With the acquisition of Nightshift, MoonPay expands its Web3 offerings

According to a press release shared with nft now, MoonPay, a crypto payments turned Web3 infrastructure company, has just acquired Web3 creative agency Nightshift, rounding out its suite of services for brands building into Web3.

MoonPay believes that with this latest acquisition, it will be able to provide a comprehensive set of services to its current and future clients, providing “world-class, end-to-end support,” as MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright stated in a press release.

Nightshift, based in Toronto, is rebranding as Otherlife as a result of this acquisition. Importantly, Nightshift’s existing clients will not be inconvenienced, as the agency will continue to serve them under this new name.

Why it is significant

With the acquisition of Nightshift by MoonPay, the Web3 infrastructure company has added one of the Web3’s leading creative agencies to its ranks. Nightshift handled creative for Web3-native clients such as Coinbase, Adam Bomb Squad, OpenSea, and others. Aside from Web3, the agency has worked on branding, design, and Web3 product strategy for clients such as Arsenal Football ClubShopifyPlayboy, and others.

Speaking about the acquisition, MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright praised the newly acquired creative agency. “With the addition of Otherlife, we can provide world-class, end-to-end support to companies, brands, and creative agencies to unlock new revenue through groundbreaking Web3-based products, experiences, and ideas,” he said in a press release.

Moving forward, the agency will be known as Otherlife, and it is expected to serve some of the world’s biggest brands, Web3 or otherwise, as MoonPay works toward its long-term goal of onboarding the world into Web3 via its current and future client base of brands. “Reflecting our continued focus on innovation and creativity, Otherlife’s brand is a renewal of our commitment to providing cutting-edge creative solutions and staying at the forefront of the web3 industry,” Otherlife Creative Director and Co-Founder Michael Moodie said in a statement shared with nft now. “We’ll keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible while staying true to our genesis values,” he said.

What comes next?

With the combined expertise of this new pairing, legacy brands considering taking the plunge into Web3 would be hard-pressed to find a company more capable of making those first steps into new territory count than MoonPay. Throughout 2022, MoonPay has massively expanded its suite of services to ensure it’s able to help make entering Web3 as easy as possible for its current and future clientele. For instance, June 2022 saw MoonPay launch HyperMint, a smart contract platform that aims to make the process of minting NFTs as easy as possible for individuals and full-scale corporations.

Much of the excitement surrounding Otherlife’s acquisition can be attributed to MoonPay’s focus on making entering Web3 as painless as possible. MoonPay was able to publicly demonstrate to park attendees how easy NFTs are to interact with thanks to its seamless use of POAP NFTs through its partnership with Universal Parks and Resorts. “MoonPay’s wallets, smart contracts, on-ramps, and expanding infrastructure provide limitless support for our growing roster of clients,” Otherlife CEO and Co-Founder Michael Perrow said in a statement shared with nft now. “We are excited to expand our custom offerings and provide true end-to-end solutions for AAA brands.”
